How do I begin sessions at Cove Therapy?

  1. Initial Contact

    • Select ‘Enquire here’ at the top of the webpage and fill the enquiry form, or

    • Alternatively contact me by text, call or email to enquire. I will respond and we can schedule a free 15-minute conversation.

      Please note we will respond within 2 business days.

  2. 15-minute phone conversation

    In this conversation we will briefly explore your hopes for sessions, options to support accessibility, availability and preferred location for sessions.

  3. Scheduling your first session

    Following the conversation, if you would like to begin therapy we will schedule your first session and I will email you welcome information and an initial details form.

Do you offer after hours appointments?

Yes, when enquiring please let me know your availability and we can discuss if there is current availability at a time suitable for you.

Can I schedule appointment bookings online?

Yes, following your first session, I will provide you with access to online bookings to support finding a suitable time for your therapy session.

What are your fees?

  • 50-60 minutes, standard session
    $150 per session

  • 80-90 minutes, extended session
    $220 per session

  • All work outside of this is quoted prior and dependent on the scope of the work.

What is your cancellation policy?

As appointment reminders are sent 72 hours prior to your session, all cancellations and rescheduled appointments require a minimum of 48 business hours notice.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of your appointment will incur a cost of 50% of the appointment fee. Cancellations made within 24 hours will incur the full appointment fee. This also applies if you do not attend your appointment. This may be waived due to certain circumstances.

There is no charge to change your session from in-person to telehealth (online or phone), however please provide as much notice as possible if changing.

What can I expect in the first session?

In our first session, we will spend time getting to know each other, talking about your hopes for sessions and discuss supporting you and your preferences.

Do I need a referral from a GP or other professional?

No, you can contact me directly without a professional referral.

Are sessions at Cove Therapy eligible for the Medicare rebate?

No, Medicare rebates are not available at this time.

Are sessions at Cove Therapy eligible for private health fund rebates?

No, private health fund rebates are not available.

Do you provide children’s therapy and counselling?

No, I do not currently provide children’s therapy and counselling at this time. I can provide support in session to parents and caregivers in supporting children - when enquiring, please let me know what you are seeking and we can discuss support options.

Note:

As a registered Social Worker, the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) lists $270 per hour as the recommended fee for social workers providing private practice counselling - my fees are below this recommendation.
